Summer Sizzler
Don't forget!!! The district-sponsored Summer Sizzler will be held on Tuesday, August 5, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Erving Elementary School. Activities will include the Huron Metroparks Mobile Learning Center, Ann Arbor Hands On M
useum with interactive activities, Crosswinds Marsh, Book BINGO, informational booths, and community displays. plan to join us for this fun, summer learning experience!

Summer Online Credit Recovery Program 2014

Registration is underway for summer online credit recovery. 

               School of Choice 
The district is now accepting applications for Schools of Choice students for the 2014-15 school year. There are 25 openings in each grade K-5 and 10 openings in each grade 6-12. Seating is limited so register today! Please call the Administration Office at 734.783.3300 if you have any questions.

Great Start Readiness Program
The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) will be held at two locations again this fall - Yake Elementary School and Erving Elementary School. GSRP is a no cost, state-funded preschool program for income-eligible children who are four years old by October 1, 2014. GSRP is now accepting applications for the 2014-15 school year.

Wegienka named 2013 "Reward School"
2012-13 Reward School
Congratulations to Wegienka Elementary School for being named to the Michigan Department of Education "Reward Schools" list of top achievers for 2012-13. For an "At-a-Glance" Overview of what "Reward Schools" are and how they are determined, click here.

Community Sing-a-long
Three ambitious WHS Class of 2013 graduates, Mitchell Girao, Kyle Martin, and Andrew Michel, wanted to capture in a video all that our city and school district have to offer before leaving for college. Feel free to share the video but don't forget to give these talented and hard-working young men credit. They worked non stop over three months to create this great video!

Non-Homestead Millage Renewal

Vote August 5th

On Tuesday, August 5, 2014, voters in the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District will be asked to renew the current 18 mill Non-Homestead Millage. This proposal does not impact the taxes on residential property; only second homes, commercial and industrial properties are affected. This is not an increase, but a renewal of our current levy. WBEF Mini-Grant Awards
WBEF Grant Award
On behalf of the Woodhaven Brownstown Education Foundation, Superintendent, Mr. Mark Greathead, and Board President, Mrs. Cara Pimer (second from right), had the pleasure of awarding WBEF mini-grants to WBSD teachers just before winter recess. The Foundation Committee selected 15 recipients from over 30 grant applications that were submitted. Ms. Penni Blohm (second from left), a reading interventionist at Erving Elementary School, was awarded $250 for her "Bridging the Gap" project. Ms. Blohm plans to use the funds to purchase books and bags for selected at-risk students to guide them in becoming proficient readers. Also pictured at right is Erving Elementary principal, Mrs. Caterina Berry.
